Virginia Sue (Miller) Knight 88, passed away Wednesday August 9, 2017 at her home in Decatur. She was born February 7, 1929 in Cullman County. She was the daughter of Major Lee Miller and Jewell Guthery Miller.

Virginia lived a full and rewarding life. She graduated from Auburn University in 1951. It was at Auburn that she met Carl Knight and they married in 1952. She was a well-respected teacher in the Decatur City and Morgan County School Systems for 30 years. She was an incredible role model. Mrs. Knight taught with...

Virginia Sue (Miller) Knight 88, passed away Wednesday August 9, 2017 at her home in Decatur. She was born February 7, 1929 in Cullman County. She was the daughter of Major Lee Miller and Jewell Guthery Miller.

Virginia lived a full and rewarding life. She graduated from Auburn University in 1951. It was at Auburn that she met Carl Knight and they married in 1952. She was a well-respected teacher in the Decatur City and Morgan County School Systems for 30 years. She was an incredible role model. Mrs. Knight taught with dignity and integrity and she lived her life this way. She attended Somerville Road Church of Christ.

The visitation will be at Roselawn Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00-12:00.

There will be a graveside service at 2:30 at Prospect Church of Christ Cemetery in Cullman County with Gary Patton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Knight, Ronnie Knight, Seth Knight, Jeremy Arthur, Tim Knight and Tommy Knight.

She is survived by her sons Tommy Knight (Linda) of Jackson, MS and Tim Knight (Misty) of Cullman; sister Sharon Miller Arthur; three grandchildren Seth Knight (Allie), Jordan Knight, and John Carl Knight; and a niece and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Major and Jewell Miller; her husband Carl M Knight; and sister Mary Ruth Miller Gentry.
